Katy Trail
In Apr-May 2024, I bikepacked the whole Katy Trail, including the Rock Island Spur. Previously, I had explored as far west as McKittrick (Hermann).

I have bikepacked the trail once (Apr-May 2024). If I had to do it again, I would forego camping, thereby ligtening my load considerably.
I have Schwalbe Marathon Mondial touring tires for trips like this.
Amtrak
Next time I ride the whole Katy Trail, I should plan to take Amtrak out to the far end. I would like to do this sometime just so I have first-hand experience to explain it to others.
Rock Island Spur
The Rock Island Spur of the Katy Trail spans most of the distance beteen Kansas City and Windsor. I have ridden this.
Rock Island Trail
The state has plans to significantly extend the Rock Island Trail, from Windsor to Union. The land deal is done, whatever it is. Construction has begun in a few small spots.
At this point, it is not a complete loop. It is about 11 miles by road from the RIT in Union to the KT at Dutzow.
