Maintenance
- Pedals
- After being on a waiting list for a year and a half, I finally
have "espresso" pedals. I need to put them on.
- Creaking
- The whole bike seems to creak quite a bit. However, I noticed
that it doesn't do it if I'm not sitting on the saddle. Therefore,
the first thing to do is lube the seat post.
Tires
- Maxxis Assegai 27.5x2.6, 3C MaxxTerra, EXO, TR (Front)
- Maxxis Minion DHRII 27.5x2.6, 3C MaxxTerra, EXO, TR (Rear)
Tire Inflation:
Front: 24 PSI
Rear: 24 PSI (SRAM recommends 24/26, so I'm going to
try 26 PSI in the rear)
Evidently, 27.5" tires is sort of an American MTB designation for 650B.
They both have a bead seat diameter (BSD) of 584mm.
Drivetrain
Chainring: 32t
Cassette: 11-50t
Ratio: 0.640 to 2.909
Suspension
Front: 160mm travel
Rear: 145mm travel (Maestro w/flip chip)
For the fork, Fox recommends 15% (24mm) sag for a firm ride and 20% (32mm)
sag for a plush ride. I think plush is ideal for me. "Turn your rebound
knob to the closed position (full clockwise) until it stops. Then back it out
(counter-clockwise) to the number of clicks shown in the table below."
Michael — Rear: 150 PSI?, Fork: 67 PSI, 10 Rebound
Tim — Rear: 200 PSI, Fork: 80 PSI, 7 Rebound
Upcoming Purchases
- SRAM Code RSC Brakes
- I have these brakes on my Farley, and they are really great. I
think I'd like to upgrade this bike with the same brakes.
