Specialized Sirrus

Update: I have told Tim that the Sirrus is officially his.

Tim has a 2010 Specialized Sirrus. It was manufactured May 20, 2010, and I purchased it July 15, 2010. After having the bike for eleven years, and then getting a road bike and a gravel bike, I gave the bike to Tim.

Wheels

The wheels have been upgraded to WTB Dual Duty i19 TCS, built by Quality Wheels. They have a 19mm internal width and 32 spokes. The front is a 100mm QR, and the rear has a Shimano/SRAM 8/9/10 Speed hub and a 135mm QR.

Because I am still using the 7 speed cassette that came with the bike, but on an 8/9/10 speed freehub, I have a 4.5mm cassette spacer on it.

Tires

Continental Gatorskin Black Edition
The bike now has Continental Gatorskin Black Edition 700x32mm tires on it. Tim was seeking lower rolling resistance, so as an experiment, we put these tires on at 1840 km. Trying them with Continental Conti Tube Race 28 tubes (700x25-32mm) with 42mm stems.
Front: 60 PSI, Rear: 75 PSI
Michelin Protek Cross
For a while, the bike had a set of 700x35mm Michelin Protek Cross tires on it. This was the third set of tires the bike had, intending for better off-road traction. Though these are supposedly 35mm tires, they are known to be oversized, and indeed these measure 38mm. Had been running these on Michelin AirStop 700x35-47mm inner tubes.
Front: 60 PSI, Rear: 75 PSI (Tim's experiment)
Front: 45 PSI, Rear: 60 PSI (Tim's normal)
Front: 40 PSI, Rear: 55 PSI (Michael's normal)

Brakes

The bike has rim brakes. I have upgraded the V-brakes to Shimano BR-T4000, and the pads to Kool Stop Cyclocross Linear brake pads.

Drivetrain

Chainring: 42/34/24t
Cassette: 12-32t (12, 14, 16, 18, 21, 26, 32)
Ratio: 0.750 to 3.500

The bike still has a 21-spd drivetrain. However, the cassette and the crankset have been replaced. The cassette is the same, but the chainring is a smaller set of sprockets, because Tim expressed an interest in lower gearing. I have a new, unused crankset of the original size/gearing in my parts bin.

Old Chainring: 48/38/28t

Bike Stand-over Height: 78cm

Computer

The bike has a Garmin bike computer mount, which can be used with Tim's Garmin Edge 130 Plus bike computer.

Tools

I can do everything needed on this bike using the following tools:

I sure would like to have a minimalist multi-tool or set of tools that can do this.

Maintenance Issues

Front Hub Rumble
When it was up on the rack, I could hear the front hub rumble as the wheel spun. I'd say the hub needs a bearing job done.
